"Here I am; send me!" Isaiah 6:8

I guess it's about time I write another post. I'm hoping to use this as a way to communicate with everyone instead of writing long emails. Although, we can all see how well I've been doing that over the past year! In just under a month, a friend and I will be leaving from Calgary to fly to South Africa!!! I'm not sure I ever thought I'd actually get to write that sentence when I dreamt about Africa in junior high. So, why am I going to Africa? The main reason I am going to Africa is to do a week long mission trip in Swaziland with Adventures in Missions. There will be a group of about 15-20 of us going, but we are from all over Canada and the US and won't meet until Day 1 of that trip. I'm a little nervous about what all God will show us, but I want to be prepared to be used by him. For those who do not know, the Kingdom of Swaziland is a small country nearly land-locked by South Africa. There are only 1.2 million people in this small country, and it is predicted that by 2053 this country will cease to exist due to it being ravaged by HIV. We do not know exactly what we will be doing with this mission yet, but it will likely include building projects, sports camps, hospital visits, home visits, and loving on the people. I already know it'll be powerful. As I can't justify the plane ticket for only one week, I will be arriving in Cape Town two weeks previous with a friend to do some traveling around. Table mountain, penguin watching, shark cage diving, hiking are all on the to-do list so far. We will also be joined by another friend to go on a 5-day all-inclusive safari in Kruger National Park. I have received some updated immunizations, have prescriptions for anti-malaria, and am having more and more difficulty focusing at school during our last few days. This trip is going to quite possibly outshine all of my other previous trips! Stay tuned here and I will do my best to update at a much more regular schedule. I would really appreciate if you would start praying for me so that I am fully prepared to be used by God on this trip. Until next time...
